Thursday December 21, 1995

The gunman who shot 5 in a Bronx shoe store has publically stated that he has killed others. His earlier victims are cab drivers. He's also stated that the customers in the store were shot because they were witnesses.

Tower Air and JFK officials are fighting over who shirked their responsibilities in yesterday's accident.


Wednesday December 20, 1995

The massacre at a shoe store in the Bronx which claimed 5 lives was the result of a customer becoming angered when the sneakers he had ordered did not arrive. Unhappy with the service he shot the person waiting on him, then shot eveyone else in sight.

JFK has been closed temporarily after a jumbo-jet's nose-wheel collapsed and caused the flight to skid off the runway.


Tuesday December 19, 1995

Still no motive in the shooting spree in a Bronx store yesterday that took the lives of 5 by-standers. The perpetrator did have a history of mental illness, so it's unclear if the incident was a botched robbery or an outburst.

Monday December 18, 1995

The Statue of Liberty is closed again because of the budget debate.

Ruth Messinger has hinted that she may be interested in becoming mayor.

West 17th Street at 9th Ave was the sight of the fire fight last night that took an officer by surprise. The officer accidentally walked in on the incident and returned fire but was not hurt. No motive has be uncovered yet.

A convicted murderer who was on parole for good behave shot at two cops in Long Island City over the weekend when they tried to summons him for violating his parole.

New York City's bravest are having their pension practices reviewed. Other fire fighters in the state receive less pension and disability benefits.

Mayor Guiliani is asking New Yorkers to shop at 125th Street to show that the city will not be racially divided by the violence of the recent massacre, and to show support for the merchants there.

Thursday December 14, 1995

The Manhatten man who assisted his wife (a victim of multiple sclerosis) take her life may now be charged with manslaughter.

Wednesday December 13, 1995

The fire in a Queen's Macy's was the result of a disgruntled client who was trying to return a coat.

Fingers are pointing at Al Sharpton. Audio tapes are being reviewed from the demostrations outside the store in Harlem that was the sight of seven deaths from fire and smoke after the hostage incident last friday. The tapes indicate Sharpton had a role in instigating the demonstration.


Tuesday December 12, 1995

The FDR was closed for a short time this morning when a 40-foot section of the pier at 14th Street gave way and sank.

Monday December 11, 1995

Govenor Pataki is putting forth a plan for broad welfare reform that would seek decentralize distribution, simplify benefits, and might include mandatory medical testing.

The rapist in Brooklyn who was on a crime spree since getting out of prison four month ago has been indicted by a grand jury.

The Victor Theater of Times Square is reopening today, as The New Victory, after more that 10 million dollars in restoration work. It will be a family-oriented venue for cultural performance events including dance, theater, music, etc.


Sunday December 10, 1995

The subway clerk who was set on fire by copy-cats imitating a scene in the recent movie "Money Train", has died after fighting for his life over the last two weeks. Harry Kaufman was 50-years-old and leaves behind a wife and teen-age son.

Thousands will be gathering at Madison Square Garden to pay homage to Yitzhak Rabin.

Cold winds are coming. Expect below freezing weather today.


Saturday December 9, 1995

The incident in Harlem yesterday may have been the result of a landlord tenant dispute. The building, which was destroyed in the fire set by robbers, was the sight of recent demonstrations.

Friday December 8, 1995

! Flash 10:45am: A number of people are being held hostage in Harlem at 125th St.

Micheal Jackson is still recovering after his medical maladies.

Snow is in the forecast for tommorrow morning.

Teachers are planning to strike after the mayor and other officials just voted in raises for themselves.



Thursday December 7, 1995 (Pearl Harbor Day)

Micheal Jackson collapsed yesterday at a rehearsal at the Beacon Theather resulting from dehydration. He is recovering well today at Beth Israel.

Several police officers in the Bronx are expected to be arrested today on corruption charges.

The City Council is expected to vote in a salary increase for the mayor and other officials today.

The Board of Ed. may have a new corruption scandle on its hands. Apparently it has paid about ten times the real value for a new building.

The feuding high schools, Repertory and Park West, are going to be separated after the violence that broken out tuesday. Repertory, which was being housed in the basement of Park West, will be relocated to midtown.


Wednesday December 6, 1995

Flu season is threatening to hit many New Yorkers this year as reports of illness start to flood emergency rooms. This year's virus appears to be one of those that is included in the standard vaccines (ie. Flu Shots.)

Park West High School was the site of a brawl today over a stink bomb thrown yesterday. The whole school has been let out early to let tensions diminish.
