A car-jacking of a pathfinder in Queens that resulted in a hit and run is still under investigation with suspects attending a line-up today.

Automatic promoting in public schools is under fire by the teacher's union. The policy of advancing students to new grades is a common problem for teachers. Students unable to handle workloads that are too advanced for them distract teachers and bring down the level of classes as a whole. However, by pushing students forward, the schools keep such students moving through the system until they are old enough to legally drop out, without the expense of special education programs and tutoring.

A woman who was leaning to far over the subway tracks full on the E-line at 53rd St. and Lexington. She became wedged between the tracks and train, and is in critical condition at this time.

The doctor and wife who were questioned about "shaken baby syndrome" are fighting to keep the hospital from pulling the plug on their baby. The child's brain activity stopped several days ago.

The bodies of the students who died in Isreal have been returned.

In the South Bronx, a double homicide appears to be suicide. A man and a woman where found dead with a crying baby. Police believe the man shot the woman then turned the gun on himself.

For the second time a suspected car thief was pulled in for questioning then complained of being roughed up, after police discovered the arrest was in error. The problem is that the police haven't been removing the stolen cars from their computer database so they remain on the "hot" list and are subsequently pulled from the road.

OJ has sold his Manhattan condo. for around 1 million.

The man who was suing Bellevue for lack of security has lost the case. He was trying to collect 25 million for the death of his wife who was killed by a homeless staying at the hospital.

Judge Duckman is even more severely under fire today. Citizens have constructed a billboard on the side of a truck which is circulating the area where he works.


Friday February 23, 1996

Judge Duckman, infamous for letting wife-beaters off with light sentences, is in very hot water today. Rumor is quickly spreading that he himself beats his wife.



Thursday February 22, 1996

Yesterday's mutilation murder of a doctor appears to be consistent with Haitian tradition for infidelity. Police are questioning the doctor's former girlfriend and her lover.

Wednesday February 21, 1996

A bizarre murder, without apparent motive, has taken the life of a doctor. He had been missing since Monday, but he was discovered mutilated in his car just blocks from his clinic.

Key evidence had to be thrown out in a Brooklyn rape case because of a problem with the search warrant. The search warrant granted to police was for a day search, but the officers conducted the search at night making the seach illegal and inadmissable as evidence. The mayor has spoken out against the ruling.

The girl who was slashed on the subway train to high school is returning today. The Bronx Science student was attacked by an insane woman and slashed in the face resulting in hundreds of stitches.
