Cinco De Mayo
Happy 5th of May! Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for May 5) is a regional holiday in Mexico, primarily celebrated in the state of Puebla. The Mexicans managed to decisively crush the French, shortly after the Mexican-American War and The Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862 had left Mexico near bankrupt and vulnerable.
The victory represented a significant morale boost to the Mexican army and the Puebla victory came to symbolize unity and pride.

Luis began his culinary career as a dishwasher in Carmine’s Restaurant in Times Square. Toloache is a Mexican eatery from chef Julian Medina (Maya, Zocalo). it has duplex Theater District. The dynamic, richly environment with beautiful tiles and murals of Mexican scenes. For Cinco de Mayo specials like lamb tacos, lobster nachos and a beef-tongue tostada at all three of its locations will be offering by the kitchen. As well as a trio of flavored margaritas (cantaloupe, blood orange, pineapple-ginger). Toloache 50 will also be hosting mariachi performances throughout the day.

Serge Becker imports London’s sex-shop-themed Mexican cantina, scrubbed clean for the Dream Downtown. Bodega Negra is Banked by a wall of antique tequila barrels, the amber-lit bar stocks 90 bottles of the spirit, employed in cocktails like the Chamomile Daisy (chamomile-apple agave, lemon) and a hibiscus-infused Paloma.
